Obituary: Mrs. Sylvia J. Kear wife or B. F. Kear died Sunday Jan 22 1894,of the grip after a short illness. Mr. and Mrs. Kear with their twoyounger children came down from their claim in the strip to their
brother-in-law, J. J. Campbell, five miles southwest of town on the 11th.Mrs. Kear was taken ill shortly after her arrival and died at 2 o'clocklast Sunday. She was 39 years old December 29 last. She leaves a husbandand seven children to mourn her death. The five older children remainedon the claim when their parents came down. They were sent for on Saturdaybut did not arrive until about fifteen minutes after their mother died.Mrs. Kear was an acceptable member of the United Brethren church. Herfuneral occurred Monday the services being conducted by Rev. Bingham ofthat denomination. Her remains being laid to rest in Houser graveyard.Mr. Kear and family lived in Hennessey several months, he being employedin the Old Review printing office. Our sympathies are with him and hismotherless children in this their hour of sad bereavement.

Text: In the matter of claim for pension of minors of Benj. F. Kear personally appeared before me, a Notary Public in and for the County and State aforesaid, N.V. Boyce, a physician aged 37 years, who being duly sworn, delares in relation to said claim the he was the attending physician during the last illness of Mrs. Kear, mother of the claimant in this case, who died Jan 21st 1894. That the evidence now given is from his own knowledge and the records of the case in his private books and records and not from the diction of anyh other party, and further that he has no interest in the above mentioned case. The above is in my own hand and in my own words.
