Note: Anderson and Lydia moved to Georgia and Riddlesville, Washington County, Georgia founded in 1844 situated on land given for this purpose by Anderson Riddle, with the restriction that no whisky should ever be sold there. Anderson is listed alone in 1850 Washington County, Georgia census with property valued at $10,000. According to G. T. Ridlon he was a tall man who weighed 250 pounds and was considered a fine looking man.

William and his family are listed in Washington County, Georgia census of 1850 with property valued at $9,000. In the 1870 Washington County census the value of his property is listed as $87,500 real estate and $25,000 personal. According to Chatham County, NC Deeds, Book AE page 298. There is reference of William Cato Riddle being the attorney of William McEwin husband of his sister Mary in a suit to gain her share of her uncle Alvis Burns estate in NC.
He was said to have Scottish features, small blue eyes and black hair, tall and weighed 220 pounds.
